Dealer code of practice
Pre-launch summary — aligned with MIRAD and Cherished Numbers Guild standards.
As a UK private number plate dealer, RegBolt commits to the following standards:
Pricing & advertising
- All advertised prices include VAT and the £80 DVLA assignment fee — the price shown is the price paid.
- Availability is never misrepresented; sold or unavailable plates are marked as such.
- No pressure selling, no false scarcity. (Real scarcity — like one-of-a-kind dateless plates — is always verifiable.)
Transfers & documentation
- Transfers follow DVLA procedures exactly — including the age rule and identity checks.
- Customers receive clear written confirmation of what they own (V750/V778) and what happens next.
- Transfers are initiated within one working day of completed purchase, or the transfer fee is refunded.
Marketplace sellers
- Seller ownership of registrations is verified before listing.
- Funds are handled transparently; sellers are paid promptly after DVLA confirmation.
Data & privacy
- Customer data is handled per our privacy policy and UK GDPR.
- Documents containing personal information (V5C details) are encrypted at rest and access-logged.
Complaints
Handled per our published complaints procedure, with acknowledgment within 1 working day.
